    Mihailo Alic

    b. 1959, Belgrade, Yugoslavia
My interest in triptychs has been a reflection of Hegel's dialectic and his triads: thesis, antithesis and synthesis. My art development has also followed this process: I have stared with photography, film and video, moved to computer graphics and Virtual Reality, to arrive to Digital Photography as a synthesis of all previous media.
"I have always been among the best artists of all engineers and the best engineers among artists". This describes Mihailo in detail - in more than 20 years of his creative life he has devoted equal periods to visual arts and engineering. Initially an electrical engineer, later computer scientist, he has concurrently developed his visual creations. Always inpatient to wait for the results, he has left behind darkroom and slide photography, Super 8 film, and off-line rendered computer graphics, replacing them with video, real-time Virtual Reality graphics and digital photography. For him, instant media has its appeal of more direct interactivity and fuller control over the outcome.
